A Michael Kors store is set to open at the Outlets at Anthem.
Luxury brand Michael Kors (NYSE:KORS) will open a store in May at the Outlets at Anthem.
The new outlet store will be the sixth location for the New York-based retailer. It already operates stores at the Tanger Outlets in Glendale and Phoenix Premium Outlets near Chandler, as well as two stores in Scottsdale and another in Chandler.
The Anthem store, which will occupy 3,420 square feet next to the Ann Taylor and Coach factory stores, will offer the brand’s apparel, handbags, footwear and accessories. The new store will create between 20 and 30 jobs.
“We are very pleased to add another impressive brand name to our roster of retailers, said Outlets at Anthem spokeswoman Sallyann Martinez. “Michael Kors joins other leading brand-name stores ... and will continue to attract local shoppers and visitors alike.
Outlets at Anthem has added a handful of stores in recent months, opening a Puma store and Joey’s of Chicago, a hot dog restaurant, last fall.
During the past year, retail and shopping centers across the Valley are adding stores and performing renovations, a sign that retail is recovering from the devastating effects of the recession.
Tempe’s Arizona Mills recently finished renovating its food court, which also added new restaurants and eateries. The shopping center also has welcomed new stores in the past year including Conn’s, Shoe Palace and O’Neill. This spring, a U.S. Polo Assn. outlet store will open there.
